Hynamics UK’s Fawley Green Hydrogen project launched its first public consultation in December, and held a drop in event for the local community on 8th January.

The Fawley Green Hydrogen project, located near Southampton on the south coast of England, is seeking feedback from the local community and interested stakeholders to inform its planning application that is expected to be submitted in Spring 2026. The Fawley project will generate up to 120MW of green hydrogen to supply the nearby ExxonMobil petrochemical complex, supporting its industrial processes and saving up to 100,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.

If consented, Fawley Green Hydrogen will create up to 200 jobs during construction, and 100 jobs locally once operational (direct and indirect), adding an estimated £10 million to the regional economy annually.

The local event was attended by 75 people, who were able to talk to members of the project team about the plans for the site.

The project received good coverage in the local Daily Echo and the BBC News. The public consultation closes for feedback on 30th January,
