The story of Hynamics begins in 2017, when EDF is interested in hydrogen as an energy storage solution. Quickly, low-carbon hydrogen reveals its full potential to supply energy and decarbonize industry and heavy transport through electrolysis using renewable electricity.
In 2018, Christelle Rouillé takes over the leadership of the «H2 by EDF» project, with the active support of Jean-Bernard Levy, President of EDF. In April 2019, Hynamics is officially established with an expert founding team and a validated business model.
The team was strengthened at the end of 2019. Since then, it has doubled every year. A first major success comes in October 2020 with the commissioning of a hydrogen station (1 MW) in Auxerre to power the buses of Auxerrois. In 2021, it opens its first subsidiary in Germany. In 2024, it inaugurated its second station in Belfort (1MW) and opened its second subsidiary in the United Kingdom.
